LAW ROUNDUP: Good-looking dog found in Whitefish

Whitefish Police took a report from someone who found the “most beautiful golden retriever ever” on Spokane Avenue. The pup police took the male pooch to doggie detention until his family could be located.


Kalispell Police were sent to West Reserve Drive, where a man was allegedly caught trying to pass a fake $1 bill. The man was told to move along.

Police were called after someone reported that a man had left an $8,000 ring in a bathroom. The ring was thankfully insured, but the owner wanted it back.

A woman got her mother to drive her home after a cashier from a store on West Idaho Street called and reported that the woman was so drunk that she had nearly fallen down as she left.

Officers found that no one wanted to file charges after someone reported a fight between 15 people in a parking lot off Montana 35.


Flathead County Sheriff’s Office took a report of windows being broken out of vehicles at a business on U.S. 2. A vehicle was also reported stolen.

Passports and social security cards were reported stolen from storage units in Evergreen.

A baggie of methamphetamine was found in a business restroom in Evergreen.

A man was told he should not buy a gun from someone he thought was selling stolen property on Facebook. The man had reported the suspicious activity to law enforcement, but had offered to take the situation into his own hands.
