Sue Grabinski, 63
Susan “Sue” Linda (Almquist) Grabinski, 63, “went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ” on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, with her family by her side. Sue fought colon cancer beginning May 2013. She put on a fierce battle.
Romans chapter 8 verse 28 says, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
Sue was born in Wrangell, Alaska, on June 19, 1953. In 1954 the family moved back to Willmar, Minnesota. In 1975, she earned her degree in special education from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. While teaching in Petersburg, Alaska, she met and married Tom Grabinski on Aug. 20, 1977. The family moved to Bozeman in the fall of 1979 and lived there until moving to Troy in 1991.
Sue is survived by her husband Tom of Troy; son Ryan (Jamie) of Belgrade; son Kevin of East Helena; daughter Nicole (Jeremiah) Nygren and granddaughters Bethany and Sarai of Dillon; brothers Jack (Cathy) Almquist of Willmar, Tom Almquist of Roseville, Minnesota, and Bob Almquist of Raymond, Washington. Uncles and aunts, nieces and nephews and many cousins are remembered with special places in her heart.
Her parents, John and Mabel preceded her in death in 2000 and 2010.
Sue was an amazing, yet humble woman who loved life, loved her family and friends and who made the whole world a better place. Sue’s celebration of life services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5 at Christ Lutheran Church, 200 W. Larch St., Libby, followed with lunch served in the Fellowship Hall. Sue’s wish is for everyone to wear something casual and colorful to celebrate her life.
Memorials can be made to Christ Lutheran Church, Lincoln County Wings Foundation or the Troy Food Pantry.
Interment will be later in the Bozeman area.
