LETTER: Breckenridge well-qualified to serve in Congress

The election this year has made me shudder for what our future looks like in Montana. Our liberty is being threatened by many candidates on both sides of the line.

Our family has lived in Montana since 1992. We hunt, fish, camp and enjoy recreation on our public lands greatly. It’s a beautiful and wholesome way to live. Now we are faced with candidates who are willing to sell our public land or restrict our freedom to use our heritage as Montanans. The majority of them are also in favor of abortion and gun control.

Rick Breckenridge knows more about the Constitution than anyone I know. As a professional land surveyor, he also knows more about private- and public-land law than any other candidate. He has always been pro-life. Both of his sons followed in his footsteps and are also land surveyors. Rick made sure they were schooled in safe use of firearms, the Constitution and respect for God and our great land.

Rick loves liberty and is not afraid to stand alone in defense of our freedom. Rick served in the army overseas and then in the Army reserve as a captain. He loves America. He is a hard-working, well-liked member of his community.

Lastly, he also clearly lives and works in Montana.

I know more about Rick than almost anyone else. I was his first wife and the mother of his children. I will be voting for him and I encourage you to do the same. —Mindy Breckenridge, Proctor
