Having the flu is not a crime

A caller told the Columbia Falls Police Department that there was a man in a Ninth Street West parking lot vomiting from his vehicle. The caller suspected the man was drunk, and was concerned because there was a child in the vehicle. Officers located the suspect and discovered that he wasn’t drunk, but was suffering from the flu.

A white dog with an orange collar was found on Ninth Street West and turned in to the police station. A few hours later the dog’s owner came to the station to report the dog as missing, and was reunited with the pooch.


A woman called the Whitefish Police Department when a suspicious vehicle pulled into her driveway on Wisconsin Avenue. She suspected it was her ex-husband. Officers spoke with the man and sent him on his way.

An employee of a Baker Avenue business called police when an intoxicated man allegedly began making threats toward the caller and the business. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.


The Kalispell Fire Department responded to reports of a gas odor on West Reserve Drive, and to reports of a fuel spill on Fourth Avenue East North.
