LETTER: Holmquist has protected our property rights

Flathead County property owners just got an early Christmas present. County Commissioner Pam Holmquist’s “Property Owners Bill of Rights,” incorporated at her urging and direction into the county’s land-use regulations, just withstood its second legal challenge by the local anti-property rights “progressive” group, Citizens for a Better Flathead.

This small but influential little group’s latest failure comes with the recent denial by the Montana Supreme Court of its legal challenge to commissioner Holmquist’s landmark effort to protect county property owners. The Flathead County property owners “Bill of Rights” still stands, so said the Montana Supreme Court.

As a private property owner that values these rights, in November I intend to stand with Commissioner Pam Holmquist, who made it all possible! —Russell Crowder, Marion
