Buls, Gregg leaders at Labor Day golf

Ryan Buls of Kalispell shot a 4-under-par 68 on Sunday to top the leader board at the 79th International Labor Day Tournament at Buffalo Hill Golf Club.

Buls was the lone golfer to break 70.

First-day co-leaders Eric Allard of Calgary and Logan Lindholm of Kalispell shot 70. They trail Buls by one shot.

Buls trailed Allard and Lindholm by a shot after Saturday’s opening session. Shawn Tucker of Whitefish shot 70 on the second day for a 134 total. He’s currently in fourth place. John Morberg of Kalispell, 65-71—136 is fifth.

In ladies play, Julia Gregg of Framers Branch, Texas, used a 3-under 65 to widen her lead. The 15-year-old shot 76 on Saturday for a three-shot advantage. Now after 36 holes with a 141 total, she has an eight-shot edge on defending champion Kali Gordon of Okotoks, Alberta. Gordon shot 70 on Sunday. Sarah Stewart of Whistler, British Columbia, is third and 11 shots off the pace.

Gordon and Stewart were tied for second after the first 18 holes with 79s.

Wendy Madison of Kalispell is fourth, 8-77 — 162, and Jenna Gordon, also of Okotoks, is fifth 85-83 — 168.

Today’s final round begins at 8 a.m.
