Thelma Marie Kassner, 92

| September 7, 2016 11:52 AM

Thelma passed away at Visions Senior Living Center in Apache Junction, Arizona, on Aug. 24, 2016. Her only child, Jay E. Kassner, of Anchorage, Alaska, was by her side.

Thelma was born Sept. 20, 1923, in Bigfork to James and Claire Ernster.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Ewald G. Kassner.

Thelma is survived by three grandchildren, Dr. Adam W. Kassner of Castle Pines, Colorado, Brittany M. Kassner and Courtney M. Kassner of Anchorage; and four great-grandchildren, Laura Kassner and Kirsten Kassner of Castle Pines, and Addyson Worthington and Noah Jay Worthington of Anchorage; her older sister Jean Deering and her niece Linda Berquist of Edmonds, Washington; and her sister-in-law, Elenore L. Fischbach of Kalispell.

Thelma was a lifelong resident of Kalispell.

She loved gardening, especially her flower gardens. She and her husband, “Dutch” loved to fish and camp out, spending days on Flathead lakes and rivers.

Her “spunky” personality will be missed by family and friends.

She was buried beside her husband at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Kalispell.
