LETTER: Mistaken ID in Egan Slough story, but issues remain the same
In a recent front page article of the Daily Inter Lake, there was a lengthy report on the county commissioners’ meeting regarding the possible zoning change in the Egan Slough area.
This meeting would otherwise be not so sensational but it does impact the proposed water bottling plant in the Creston area. The commissioners’ chambers were packed with folks spilling out into the hallways. That I believe is a healthy, engaged populace and for all those that participated, either in person or in writing, thank you and hope you come back soon.
Unfortunately I was mis-identified as the only person in the room against the proposed zone expansion. Upon my contacting the paper they quickly changed the online version of the article and have also run a print correction.
With the amount of people there and the number of comments, I could see where it would be hard to keep track. Despite the confusion, I am glad I patiently listened and waited for my turn and I would suggest others do the same. This particular water and property rights issue is far from over and is a bellwether for future concerns that impact all of us in the Flathead and beyond. —Bill Yarus, Kalispell
