Dorothy Smith put down a match-high nine kills and Stillwater Christian dominated from the service line with 16 aces in a 25-19, 25-20, 25-23 win over Eureka Tuesday night.

The Cougars (4-3) used a 16-4 edge in aces to hand the Lions their first loss of the season. Adrianna Lambert led Stillwater with four aces, ahead of a host of teammates with three.

“From the service line and in our passing we were just fabulous,” Stillwater coach Diane Smith said. “Our girls did a really great job with passing. Eureka put together some good plays and have some good kills but our girls came together and played really hard and really well.”

Stillwater also played well defensively, collecting 36 digs, including eight each for Cora Boll, Sarah Dutton and Smith. Helen Hashley added three blocks.

Kaylee Kronsperger and Kassi Peterson each had seven kills to lead Eureka (4-1).
