Why is far right so terrified of Hillary Clinton?

| September 13, 2016 11:00 AM

In response to Gene Speelman’s letter of Sept. 2, let me be the first to wish you bon voyage when you leave the country after Hillary Clinton is elected. Good luck with the states’ rights in the Netherlands. The countries of Europe are already well acquainted with Nazi fascism.

I do not understand why the far right is so terrified of a Clinton presidency. Are they afraid she will lie to get us into a war in the Middle East and de-stabilize the whole region for decades? George Bush already did that. Are they afraid she will pass an ill-advised tax cut that will balloon our national debt by $4 trillion in a decade? George Bush already did that.

Are they afraid she will trash the economy with the worst recession since the Great Depression, costing millions of jobs and untold economic suffering by the American people? George Bush already did that. Are they afraid she will come up with trickle-down economics and send all the wealth to the top 1 percent while the middle class stagnates for 35 years? Ronald Reagan already did that.

Maybe they are afraid she will loan billions of dollars to the auto industry saving over 2 million jobs and the money has all been paid back. No. Obama has already done that. —Tom Shaughnessy, Kalispell
