'Meds' safely stowed when police arrive
Kalispell Police responded to a report of a suspicious man at a dentist’s office who said he had stashed his backpack in the area when police were looking for him. According to the caller, the male was “sweaty and agitated, pacing the sidewalk” and stated that his backpack was full of “medical supplies,” then winked at the caller.
Transients were reportedly kicking in the doors of wooden sheds on East Idaho Street and sleeping in them. Additional transients were allegedly “always in the area” on West Railroad Street, and a homeless man was found in some bushes on U.S. 93 South by a man on a riding mower.
A person called county dispatch operators to ask about laws regarding leashes on dogs on trails. The operator answered the caller’s questions, but noted the person was very disappointed in the ordinances.
A woman said a puppy followed her home. It was returned to the owner.
A Kalispell resident asked for extra patrols from Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies after reporting that her mailbox was stuffed with mail belonging to other people. A deputy spoke with the woman, who left a note for her mail carrier.
Mail vandals reportedly assaulted a bank of mailboxes on Five Card Draw in Kalispell. Boxes were left open and mail was allegedly missing.
A Somers homeowner called to report people engaged in an apparent break-in attempt at a neighbor’s house. The caller stated that “the homeowner is in jail and this whole thing is over a drug and drywall deal.”
A man called Whitefish Police to request that vagrants behind his house be moved along, noting that “a lot of suspicious things have been happening in the area.”
A man was allegedly hanging around outside a Whitefish bar, trying to start fights and telling patrons he was “going to cut them from ear to ear.”
