VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Libby spills Bigfork; Whitefish, C-Falls win with sweeps

LIBBY — Brooklyn Rainer and Mehai Sykes shared the kill lead with seven apiece and Rainer added two blocks as Libby defeated Bigfork 25-15, 25-20, 25-23 in a District 7B volleyball match.

It was the first district contest for Libby, who is 3-1 overall.

“I thought we had good energy, a good flow out on the court and played hard, played aggressive,” Libby coach Cindy Ostrem-Johnston said. “It was a good team effort.”

Columbia Falls 3, Polson 0

POLSON — Unbeaten Columbia Falls thumped Polson 25-15, 25-14, 25-11 in a Northwest Conference contest.

Morgan Stenger and Kiara Burlage had 11 kills apiece for the Wildkats, who totaled 38.

Stenger also had four blocks.

Haley Fyant had six kills and two aces for Polson.

Whitefish 3, Frenchtown 0

FRENCHTOWN — Whitefish had the statistical edge in four of five categories in beating Frenchtown 25-23, 25-10, 25-14 in a Northwest Conference match.

Both teams had seven aces.

Daylyn Ross had four of Whitefish’s blocks and Libby Nagler led in assists with 15 and aces with three.
