FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Bigfork, Eureka roll to easy wins

ST. IGNATIUS — Quarterback Augie Emslie had four touchdown passes, two going to Logan Taylor, as Bigfork stayed undefeated on the football season with a 41-0 romp over St. Ignatius on Friday night in Class B play.

Emslie, who was 8 of 12 passing for 183 yards, hit Taylor on scoring strikes of 23 and 53 yards. Taylor finished with three receptions for 79 yards.

Matt Farrier was on the receiving end of a 64-yard touchdown pass from Emslie and Anders Epperly caught a 25-yard TD pass.

Randy Stultz, 10 carries for 133 yards, had a touchdown run of 55 yards. Farrier, 9 rushes for 62 yards, also had a 29-yard TD scamper.

Bigfork (4-0) piled up 401 yards in total offense to 125 for St. Ignatius.

Eureka 53, Florence 18

EUREKA — Eureka scored 34 points in the second quarter to blow past Florence in a Class B nonconference contest.

Eureka (3-1) led 46-0 at the half. The Lions had 402 yards of total offense to 181 for Florence.

Eureka quarterback Garrett Graves ran for two touchdowns and passed for another. He was 7 of 22 passing for 102 yards and was intercepted once. He had 12 carries for 96 yards.

Cannan Smith rushed 14 times for 104 yards and two touchdowns.

Eureka’s defense figured in the scoring with linebacker James Dunn returning a fumble 30 yards for a touchdown and Bryant Little taking an interception 25 yards for another score.

Dunn finished with 7 1/2 tackles.

Graves had 3 1/2 tackles and two interceptions at his linebacker position. Austyn Sherwood had the other pick for Eureka.

On offense, Sherwood had four catches for 71 yards.

STEVENSVILLE — Quarterback Derek Kastella passed for a touchdown, Tyler Cote had a scoring run of 15 yards and Parker McWhirter returned an interception 20 yards for another touchdown as Whitefish blanked Stevensville in a Class A nonconference clash.

Whitefish (2-2) jumped out to a 14-0 first-quarter lead and never looked back. The Bulldogs had 280 yards of total offense to 171 for Stevensville.

Kastella was 9 of 12 passing for 70 yards. He hit Brady Staves on a 22-yard scoring pass.

Cote led the ground game with 17 carries for 109 yards.

Whitefish’s Sawyer Silliker had seven receptions for 55 yards.

THOMPSON FALLS — Kasey Mock and McKenzie Holt both scored three touchdowns to carry Ronan past Thompson Falls in a Class B nonconference contest.

Mock had scoring runs of 1, 7 and 5 yards. He also passed 14 yards to Ezekiel Misa for a touchdown.

Holt’s touchdown runs covered 58 and 50 yards and he hauled in a 46-yard pass from Kade VanElswyk for another score.

DILLON — Touchdown runs by Graden Greenslade and Troy Andersen in the third quarter helped Dillon pull away from Polson for the Class A nonconference victory.

Dillon led 17-0 at the half on a 65-yard punt return for a touchdown by Gabe Hupp, a 23-yard field goal by Todd Nordahl and RJ Fitzgerald’s 16-yard touchdown run.

Polson scored in the final quarter on a 40-yard pass from Tanner Wilson to Cadis Chowning.

BROWNING — Dakota Bridwell threw six more touchdown passes to bring his season total to 24 as undefeated Columbia Falls blew out Browning Friday night in a Class A nonconference game.

Bridwell threw four of his touchdown passes in the first quarter, connecting with Braxton Reiten twice in the period. Bridwell and Reiten connected again in the second quarter and the senior hooked up with Trey Gates from 37 yards out early in the third quarter to round out the scoring.

Bridwell finished the game 13 for 18 for 274 yards. Reiten had six catches for 144 yards.

Columbia Falls (4-0) has outscored the opposition 209-54 this year.

The Wildcats take on undefeated Dillon at home Friday at 7 p.m.

LIBBY — David Kelleher ran for two touchdowns and passed for two more as Shelby coasted to a Class B nonconference victory over winless Libby.

Kelleher was 7 of 14 passing for 132 yards. He had touchdown passes of 12 and 52 yards to Andrew Johnson and Colt Peterson, respectively. Keller added 70 yards rushing and scored on runs of 1 and 11 yards.

Zach Torgerson, who finished with 91 rushing yards, had a pair of 2-yard touchdown runs.

Tim Carvey caught a 20-yard pass from quarterback Braydan Thom on the final play of the game to get Libby in the end zone.
