Lonnie Buchholtz, 64

| September 19, 2016 8:04 PM

Lonnie Buchholtz, 64, passed on Sept. 15, 2016, doing what brought him immense joy — riding his motorcycle with his close friends.

Lonnie was born Sept. 2, 1952, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Eugene and Clara Buchholtz. His family moved to Missoula when he was a teenager. This is where he met his wife of 39 years, Kim (Syth) Buchholtz and started their family before moving to Kalispell in 1979.

Prior to starting his own construction business, he worked for the union and others for many years, building his family home on evenings and weekends. He liked to be his own boss, which led him to becoming a general contractor and starting Buchholtz Enterprises. Through doing so he was able to pass on the love and skill of building to his sons.

In addition to his passion for riding his Harley, he also found great joy over the years in his family and friends, horseback riding, his animals, hunting, and just hanging out listening to some good ole’ classic rock. Lonnie lived life to the fullest.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his younger sister, Sandy Buchholtz.

He is survived by his parents, Eugene and Clara Buchholtz, of Missoula; brothers, Gerald, Doug and Monte Buchholtz, also of Missoula; wife, Kim Buchholtz; children, Chad Buchholtz, Lyle Buchholtz and wife Marcie, and Trista Buchholtz, all of Kalispell, along with their families, including five grandchildren with one on the way, and one great-grandchild. Lonnie is also survived by many dear friends and extended family members.

Please join us for a memorial service at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home in Kalispell. A celebration of life will follow at the Eagles club in Kalispell.
