The Flathead County commissioners’ discussion and possible vote on the proposed expansion of the Egan Slough Zoning District has been postponed because of a scheduling conflict.

The commissioners had it on their agenda for Friday morning and have not yet rescheduled the consideration.

It may be held in early October when Deputy County Attorney Tara Fugina, the commissioners’ legal counsel, returns from vacation, county Administrator Mike Pence said.

A majority of property owners within the Egan Slough Zoning District support the addition of 530 acres to the 1,150-acre district near Creston and are conducting a citizen-initiated effort to expand the district.

The proposed expansion includes property where Lew Weaver plans to build a water bottling facility that has met with strong neighborhood opposition.
