LETTER: A different idea proposed for Kalispell schools
One part of this bond is to build an elementary school on Airport Road. Why would you build near a sewer plant? You’re overcrowded, as is the neighborhood of Flathead High School!
Another part of this bond is Flathead High School. The school is so big you need a parking permit, as do the residents, to park around the school. Is the parking permit a form of eminent domain?
You should make one part of Flathead High School an elementary school and the other part a middle school. There are also two other buildings. One could be a preschool. A parent could drop off their preschool, elementary and middle-school children all in one place, the old Flathead High School.
Our high school students and faculty need a big school so they can park on school property. With the growing number of students, a new high school is needed, not an elementary school. Change Flathead High School. Stop adding on.
Please vote “no” on the school bonds.—Ellen Holdorff, Kalispell
