HELENA — Stillwater Christian scored five straight goals to pull away from Helena Christian with a 5-2 win in an MCAA Western Conference soccer match on Friday night.

Helena Christian got on the board first with a penalty kick in the 25th minute, but it didn’t take long for the Cougars to bounce back.

Jorgen Lindborg scored a hat trick in six minutes surrounding the halftime break and Isaac Neumann scored two goals after that to give Stillwater a commanding lead. Helena Christian added a score late, but the Cougars had already sealed the victory.

“We came out a little bit slow,” Stillwater coach Ryan O’Rourke said. Stillwater played a late night game at Columbia Falls on Thursday before travelling to Helena.

“I think we were a bit tired from that. As the game wore on we played better.”

Stillwater outshot Helena Christian 16-11 and Cougars goalkeeper Zack Basnett made nine saves.
