Daniel Albert Fraser, 59

| September 25, 2016 6:00 AM

Daniel Albert Fraser was 59 years young when he passed away Sept. 14, 2016, at 6:28 p.m. at Kalispell Regional Medical Center, after suffering a work-related accident.

He was born on March 29, 1957, in San Francisco, and was adopted by Margo and Gerald Fraser. His mother and maternal grandmother, Oma, shared birthdays and the day was always celebrated in a big way.

On Nov. 1,1986, he met Barbara and within a few months they knew it was meant to be. By January 1987 they started their life together. On Aug. 7, 1994, he married this wonderful woman, Barbara Keeling, whom he referred to as his “one true love.” Anyone that spent any time with them would know within moments how much love they shared. You can see it in the way they held each other, looked at each other and laughed with and, at times, at each other. Daniel used to say that she “saved his life” but in the end they saved each other. They saw the best in each other and embraced the differences, they are the epitome of what love should be.

In addition to the love of his life he adored his sons and family. He loved to dance, ski, ride roller coasters, jump off bridges, eat amazing meals, watch movies, play cards, help his friends and he loved a good nap. Daniel was one of the most caring, kind hearted, loving and genuine people you would ever meet. He worked hard but he loved to have fun. He spent his life building and remodeling other people’s homes as well as his own. He loved to work with his hands and was a perfectionist. When things got stressful you could always tell when Daniel was near with his colorful comments. No matter how long it took, he always followed through with what he said he would do. Even in the end when he would say that he would work until he died, he always said “Don’t worry, everything will be alright.”

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Fraser, of Kalispell; his three sons, Jacob Clark and Lauren Voeltz of Billings, John Fraser of San Francisco, and Connor Fraser of Missoula; his two sisters, Patty and Lisa, and their children. And last but not least he also leaves behind his beloved Oscar “Oz.”

On Sept. 17 a celebration of life gathering was done at his residence were his family and friends were able to embrace the man, remember his life and share in the joy they that were all able to have known him.

He was cremated by Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and will remain in his home with his wife and family.
