— Boys and girls ages 6-15 are invited to participate in the NFL Punt, Pass, Kick competition slated from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today at the Kalispell Youth Sports Complex. Winners of the free football skills competition will advance to a sectional competition. A copy of the child’s birth certificate is required to participate. For more information call 758-7848.

— Sparrow’s Nest of Northwest Montana is holding a renovation celebration and fundraiser barbecue from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at 204 Seventh Ave. W., Kalispell.

— There is no school at Whitefish and Cayuse Prairie schools on Monday. It is a teacher work day.

— A screening of “Most Likely to Succeed,” will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Whitefish Performing Arts Center. The movie is based on Tony Wagner and Ted Dintersmith’s book, “Most Likely to Succeed: Preparing our Kids for the Innovation Era.”

— Muldown Elementary has planned an open house for third and fourth grades on Tuesday.

— Picture day for grades kindergarten through fifth at Bigfork Elementary is set for Wednesday.

— Marion students have an early out Wednesday for teacher development.

— West Valley students will be dismissed at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

— The public is invited to attend a Kalispell Public Schools question and answer forum on its bond requests from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Red Lion Hotel ballroom. People who are unable to attend are encouraged to email questions to Community Outreach Coordinator Christine Hensleigh at hensleighc@sd5.k12.mt.us or call 751-3432. Ballots have been mailed and are due Oct. 4.

— Whitefish High School juniors may attend a college fair on Thursday. Cost is $5. Participating students are required to ride the bus.

— An open house will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Peterson Elementary.

— Deer Park School will hold an open house Thursday.

— Muldown Elementary has planned an open house for kindergarten through second grades on Thursday.

— The registration deadline for Flathead High School sophomores and juniors take the Preliminary SAT test is Friday. Register in the main office. Cost is $16. The test will be given in Oct. 19. The test is also a screening test for high school students who wish to participate in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

— All ages are invited to the Kalispell TreeCycle Ride from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 2. The free, family-friendly event will take participants on a tour of notable trees around Kalispell. Participants are encouraged to ride their bicycles, but may follow by car. The tour will begin at Museum at Central School. For more information call 758-7716.

— Olney-Bissell students have a noon dismissal Oct. 11. Parent/teacher conferences begin at 12:30 p.m.

— There is no school Oct. 13-14 at Whitefish Christian Academy for parent/teacher conferences.

— Swan River students have a 1:45 p.m. dismissal on Oct. 14.

— Smith Valley students have an early out Oct. 19. Kindergarten through third is dismissed at 12:45 p.m. and fourth through eighth grade at 12:55 p.m.

— Most schools are out Oct. 20-21 for the MEA conference.

— Skip Out Camp through Kalispell Parks and Recreation is set for 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 20-21 at Elrod Elementary. Open to ages 5-13. Cost is $30 per day. Dress for the weather, pack a sack lunch and snacks and be ready to play outside and participate in fun activities.

— West Valley students will be dismissed at 1 p.m. Oct. 26.
