Glacier begins closing some services for winter season
The busy summer season is winding to a close in Glacier National Park, with the Cut Bank entrance shut down as of Monday and other services scheduled to follow suit.
Aside from Cut Bank Road, all other entrances to Glacier, as well as Going-to-the-Sun Road, are still open.
Sunday was also the last day for boat cruises and concessionaire-led horseback rides in the park.
Glacier spokesman Tim Rains said Monday that this week will be the last for visitors to access the St. Mary Visitor Center, which closes Monday. Lake McDonald Lodge will close Wednesday, and Eddy’s Cafe & Mercantile in Apgar Village will shut down for the season on Sunday.
