Isabel Larsen, 83
Isabel Larsen, 83, passed away Aug. 29, 2016, in Kalispell.
She was born Oct. 7, 1932, in Hebron, North Dakota, to Alma and Peter Lapp. Hebron was home for her through the elementary and high school years.
As a youth she was active in Girl Scouts, church activities and many hours playing the piano. After high school graduation she attended Dickinson State College and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education.
In 1954, she married Donald Larsen. They had two children, Kim and Jeff.
Isabel was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and teacher. During her 30 years of teaching, she especially enjoyed her students. Her final 15 years of teaching were at the Whitefish Junior High, where she taught middle school English. Isabel had a very special relationship with her granddaughter Megan, who has followed in her footsteps as a middle school English and humanities teacher.
She is survived by her husband Don of Kalispell; daughter Kim Snell and her husband Jim of Kalispell; Jeff Larsen and his wife Ardis of Lakeside; granddaughter Megan Larsen of Tacoma, Washington; and sister June Watson of California.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Oct. 1 at Calvary Lutheran Church. Pastor Kurt Rau will be officiating.
