Man worries staff at school office

Kalispell Police Department responded to a report of a possibly intoxicated or high man who allegedly went to the Kalispell Public Schools central office and opened doors, rifled through papers, cursed and stated someone sent him there. Staff locked themselves in offices.

In a separate incident, police received a report that sometime over the weekend someone allegedly attempted to break into Flathead High School by taking off a lock assembly, but was unsuccessful and did not gain entry.

Syringes were found on an Appleway Drive lawn.

A woman told police she was “almost taken for $1,500” in a rental scam on Woodland Avenue.

An uncooperative man reportedly screamed at dispatchers after losing sight of what he said was a stolen vehicle on U.S. 2 West. The man allegedly threatened to “find the vehicle himself” and “beat the crap out of” the person he believed had stolen the car. He was advised “not to take the matter into his own hands.”

A man reportedly choked another man after a verbal disturbance at Depot Park. The transient men may have been intoxicated.

A woman believed she witnessed an alleged drug deal involving people in a van and another vehicle on West Idaho Street.

Someone called police and started crying, scared after seeing two to three kids looking in vehicles and allegedly trying to use a key to get into all the cars.

A man said he found what looked to be a brand-new radial saw with a table in an alley.


Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a man allegedly punched a woman’s husband on U.S. 93 South in Whitefish. The woman said the alleged assault was over the cost of firewood.

Two pickup trucks allegedly “tore through” newly planted fields on Stillwater Road, causing some damage. The farmer claimed he “caught the kids” involved.

Two males and two females were reportedly knocking on doors on Shady Lane in Kalispell. A building manager told officers the pair were not registered there.

Neighbors were heard fighting on Tamarack Lane in Columbia Falls and a man reportedly left on a motorcycle, but came back, and threatened a woman before leaving.

Someone was concerned after reportedly seeing the passenger door of a vehicle open and a woman inside who looked like she was going to fall out on Willow Glen Drive.

Officers received a report from an allegedly intoxicated man who wanted to get his vehicle on Cooperative Way and leave. He said a woman who “has an attitude” was blocking him in. The man said it was not a disturbance, but that they “are just not getting along.” The man apparently agreed to stop drinking for the night and take a walk; however another call came in that he was yelling at the woman, threatening to leave, and was plain “being mean.”

A man on Farm-to-Market Road in Kalispell claimed he had been finding nails and razor blades three weeks in a row and “nobody has gotten hurt yet,” but was concerned “for all the children that use the bus stop.”

Someone alleged several animals were not being fed and there was no grass in a pasture on Echo Lake Road in Bigfork. Officers reported that all the animals appeared healthy.

A woman on Rockwood Road in Kalispell was concerned after seeing a child allegedly “throwing” a kitten around, but when she tried to knock on the door to talk to the child’s parents, no one answered. The woman claimed “she could hear the ... kids lie to the parents,” and said one of the parents stopped her on the road and told her to stay away from her children and the residence. The kitten appeared healthy and officers advised the parents of the complaint.

A man was allegedly destroying a resident’s house on Old Church Road in Olney. The person calling in the report said she had glass in her face and dispatchers could hear objects being thrown around in the background.


Someone was afraid to get out of his or her car after spotting a black bear in a crabapple tree on Dakota Avenue. The bear moved along without incident, but the person called Whitefish Police Department later on wanting to know what the plan was to catch it.

A pistol was reported stolen from a woman’s vehicle on Edgewood Place.


Someone “who sounded really shaken up” wanted assistance from Columbia Falls Police regarding a reportedly intoxicated man who was playing loud music and throwing things around on Beth Road. The person wanted help “getting him to quiet down” and said the man had been drinking for several days. The person was also afraid the man would hurt himself.

A woman who had allegedly been pulled over by police multiple times for not having insurance stopped by the police station to show proof of commercial insurance and settle the matter once and for all.

Someone on Nucleus Avenue reported a man camping and sleeping in a park in addition to drying clothes on a line. The man was gone by the time police arrived.

A woman told police she was getting strange text messages stating “creepy stuff” such as “they are watching her and knew that she was bringing in groceries.”
