Boy Scouts kick off annual popcorn sale

Montana Council’s Boy Scouts kicked off their annual popcorn sale Sept. 24.

The popcorn sale provides scouts the opportunity to earn funds for camp, projects and leadership training. Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venture Scouts (including female scouts) will be going door to door taking orders for the popcorn. New this year is trail mix and the return of some popcorn tins.

Online sales are available at www.trails-end.com. The sale ends Oct. 16.

In 2015, Montanans bought $1.9 million worth of Boy Scout popcorn. More than 70 percent of the total sales goes back to local scouting. More information can be found at www.montanabsa.org. Questions may be directed to the Boy Scout Service Center, 888-761-6001 or http://www.montanabsa.org/news-events/fundraisers/popcorn-sale.

Boy Scouts of America, Montana Council, offer programs for boys from first grade through age 21, and young women ages 14 through 21. Montana Council operates Cub Scout Day Camps in most major towns and summer camps at K-M Scout Ranch north of Lewistown, Camp Melita Island on Flathead Lake and Grizzly Base Camp near Glacier National Park.
