Sleepy woman wakens with weapons
Flathead County Sheriff’s Office responded to Holt Stage Road, where a woman called for help after she came out of a blackout and realized that she was in an unfamiliar place. The woman thought sleeping pills might have caused her to wander while being unaware of her surroundings. She told officers that she had a knife, a machete and a disassembled recurve bow in her backpack that she usually carried with her when camping. A deputy took the woman back to her apartment in downtown Kalispell.
A barge owner was told that he needed to go to civil court after he reported that someone had not paid him after he delivered boat lifts to a customer on Flathead Lake. The barge owner said he kept getting the “check is in the mail” explanation from the customer.
A woman on Foy’s Lake Road reported that she had been the victim of an internet scam that took $2,000 from her. She was aware that it would be nearly impossible to track down the foreign thief, but hoped that her story of misfortune might be a lesson to other potential victims.
Two tree stands, used for deer hunting, were reported stolen from Lower Valley Road.
Someone called from Kingfisher Lane to report that a mother had left an infant in a car for 10 minutes with the doors locked and windows locked without any adult supervision. The mother returned and argued with the caller. An officer was dispatched.
A paddle board was reported stolen from a yard on Blanchard Hollow Road outside of Whitefish.
Someone called, worried about the legitimacy of a Craigslist ad that listed employment opportunities for adult film actors and actresses. The person was concerned about the safety of anyone who responded to the advertisement.
Someone reported that a group of individuals might have illegally set up a “community” on U.S. Forest Service property. A deputy found a few camps, but nothing that the deputy thought constituted a community.
Kalispell Police interacted with a man who did not want to file an official report against his ex-wife after she allegedly punched him in the face during a exchange of the former couple’s child. He wanted police to document his bloodied nose because his cell phone camera was inoperable.
A person on Sixth Avenue West North heard a ruckus in a garage at 6:30 p.m. and found that a man was there, tearing the place apart. The man took off and an officer was unable to locate him.
Someone complained that a drunken man had allegedly walked through a playground on the eastern side of town. An officer did not locate the man.
A four-year-old boy’s family was counseled after the child was spotted by a newspaper carrier walking the streets alone at 4:30 in the morning.
Officers left a note for transients to vacate a makeshift camp on Eighth Avenue East. A person had complained that transients had placed a mattress and makeshift shelter in the area.
A Whitefish Police officer removed a large boulder from U.S. 93.
A woman called Columbia Falls Police to report that her husband was missing. She was worried because the man left on foot after an argument. He had been drinking. The man was located safe and sound in the park, before officers could respond.
