Katrina B. 'Kitty' Kiger, 77

Katrina B. “Kitty” Kiger, 77, of Kalispell passed away Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 9, 1939, in Normal, Illinois, to Leroy and Grace Koehler.

She attended Fenger High School in Chicago, where she graduated in 1957.

Katrina was employed at Rand McNally in Hammond, Indiana, where she met her husband Donald. She later moved to Salt Lake City where she was employed by Lady Fair Kitchen and later IMC Mint Corporation. Katrina’s love of the great outdoors inspired her and the family to pack up and move to Bozeman where she worked for Montana State University School of Nursing. She later ventured her way up to Kalispell, working various jobs including Jean Factory/Clothes Gallery, Flathead County Title and Eisinger Motors, where she retired in 2014.

Katrina had a passion for hunting, fishing and camping. She loved to spend her time doing intricate cross-stitching where she won many awards for her entries at the Northwest Montana Fair. She loved the challenge and mastered crossword and Sudoku puzzles. She was actively involved and held an officer’s position with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Katrina was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald, and her parents, Leroy Koehler and Grace Koehler.

Katrina is survived by her children, Bryan McCray (Rebecca), Greta Kiger (Chris Bush, significant other), Genelle Kidd (Bill), Jeffrey Kiger, Bryan Kiger (Debbie), Michael Kiger (Penny), and Leigh Ann Allegra (Jim). She is also survived by her sister Nancy Behling, and brother Richard Koehler; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her very special friend, Pauline Smith.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home.
