LETTER: A bad word is not as bad as a property crime
I would just like to happily respond to the previous person talking about the “Trump that b---h” sign. As a neighbor to this landowner and with children of my own, it comes down to a parenting issue if your child is saying bad words. Given the language that we see on TV, this is by far mild.
And also mind you this is an exercise of freedom of speech and freedom of print might I add. Not to mention that this is on someone’s private property.
Now on another note, let’s consider the person who decided to deface personal property, vandalize and trespass. These, my friend, are laws that have been broken. What kind of message are we sending to our children with that? If you don’t like what someone is saying, just break the law? Maybe this is how extreme protesters start out ... and then move on to hurting people and starting cars on fire.
I hope and pray that the person who owns the property had some kind of game camera up and caught the criminals in the act. This should have been the real story.
As a woman I am in no way offended by the language, and all three of my children have seen that sign three times a day for the last month and have not uttered that word to me. —Alison Siegel, Lakeside
