James H. DeShais, 90

James H. DeShais, 90, passed away peacefully March 31, 2017, at North Valley Hospital with family by his side.

Before moving to Columbia Falls in 1988, he and his wife were longtime residents of Garden City, Michigan. They met in high school and married June 16, 1945. Jim served in the U.S. Air Force for two and a half years where he was schooled in electronics and radar. After leaving the Air Force he worked in electrical maintenance at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan. He retired in 1988. His hobbies included crossword puzzles, computer scrabble, building model airplanes, collecting Ford model cars, and going to his favorite hangout at the Nite Owl Restaurant.

He is survived by his wife Helen and their children, Connie and her husband Dave Konopatzke of Columbia Falls, and Ron and his wife Deb DeShais of Hillsboro, Oregon.

Columbia Mortuary is caring for the family.

There will be a private grave side service at Woodlawn Cemetery.
