Flathead Valley Live on Stage will welcome Cherish the Ladies, a Grammy-nominated, Irish-American supergroup, to Kalispell on Wednesday.

Cherish the Ladies will bring Irish traditional music and dance to the stage at Flathead High School, 644 Fourth Ave. W., Kalispell, April 19 at 7:30 p.m.

Celebrating more than 30 years of music-making, Cherish the Ladies formed in New York City in 1985 to celebrate the rise of women in what had previously been a male-dominated Irish music scene. Since then they have toured the world, played the White House and the Olympics. They have recorded 15 albums including their latest, “An Irish Homecoming,” which was also videotaped for an Emmy Award-winning Public Television special.

Under the leadership of flute and whistle champion Joanie Madden, these ladies create an evening that includes a blend of instrumental talents, vocals and step dancing.

THE APRIL 19 performance is a series subscription concert for Flathead Valley Live on Stage; however, single tickets are also available for $30 (adults and seniors), $15 (students) and $75 (family), available at the door or online at www.flatheadvalleyliveonstage.org.

This show will be the last one promoted by Flathead Valley Live on Stage, which went by the name Community Concerts before rebranding in 2013. Community Concerts, an all-volunteer organization, had promoted shows annually in Kalispell since 1939.
