POST FALLS — Black and Blue continued to storm through the 15s season by beating the North Idaho Highlanders 33-14 on Saturday.

In a physical rugby match with little room to move, Black and Blue senior Matt Gash-Gilder made his mark along a powerful front line, scoring his first of three tries 18 minutes into play to give Kalispell a 5-0 lead.

Jaycob Serrano scored another try, this time with an added conversion, to extend the Black and Blue lead, but North Idaho was able to dot down a try before half to cut the score to 12-7 at the break.

The Black and Blue retook control of the game after half, with Tucker Nadeau feinting a dummy pass on the run to create space and touch down a try in the corner six minutes in.

Gash-Gilder scored again a few minutes later to give Kalispell a 26-7 lead only for North Idaho to tuck it back to 26-14 with 10 minutes to play.

Gash-Gilder continued to pound away, however, scoring a penalty try in the closing minutes to send the Black and Blue home on a high note.

He was awarded man of the match honors for the third straight week following the victory.

The Black and Blue is off for a bye week, returning on April 29 to play at Missoula.
