Caller reports trash cans, bear problems

A man told the Whitefish Police Department that there were multiple trash bins found in the road on Crestwood Drive. The caller was concerned because he had allegedly seen a bear in the area, and thought the animal had probably been drawn there by the cans.

A woman’s wallet was found and turned in to the police. Officers were unable to find current contact information for the probable owner.

A large brown dog was reportedly running loose near Pine Avenue.

A black horse and tan mule were reportedly on the loose on West Ninth Street. The animals’ owners were contacted, and the duo was picked up without incident.

A Third Avenue West resident told the Columbia Falls Police Department that a spoiler had been stolen off his vehicle.

A dog bite was reported on Fourth Avenue West.

The West Valley Fire Department responded to reports of a burn pile on Grande Vista Drive, and reports of a grass fire on Spring Prairie Road.

The Smith Valley Fire Department responded to reports of a power lines emergency on South Foys Lake Drive, and reports of a structure fire on Wild Bill Road.
