The Wolfpack swept the crosstown track dual on Tuesday in record fashion on an overcast afternoon at Glacier High School.

Ethan Larson and Drew Turner set a meet records by tying for the win in boys 100, finishing in 11.12 seconds to top the 8-year-old record set by Flathead’s Ian Damon in 2009 by .26 seconds. Larson also won the 200.

Turner also set the meet record in the 400, finishing in 50.53 to edge the record set by Evan Epperly in 2014. Those two also helped Glacier chip nearly a second off its 400 relay record from last year, finishing in 43.55. The Glacier boys won the dual 85-60.

Flathead’s Ben Perrin broke the 7-year-old 1,600 record set by his older brother, Zach, by nearly three seconds, finishing in 4:29.07 for the win. Chad Hemsley swept the hurdles and Michael Leed took both the shot put and discus.

Glacier junior Annie Hill beat her own record in the girls 3,200, running the event for the first time in state this season and setting a state-best mark of 10:31.14, and sped to the win in the 400 as well.

Nikki Krueger set a new record in the shot put, winning the event with a throw of 39-2 1/2, and also won the discus. The Glacier girls won the dual with 87 2/3 points.

Flathead’s Jessica Barnhart set season-best times in the 100 and 200 to win both events at the meet, the only girl other than Hill and Krueger to win two individual events.

The meet was a warm up for some big competitions this weekend. The teams will split up, with the boys headed to Butte on Friday for the Swede Dahlberg Invite and the girls headed to Great Falls for the Optimist Invite on Saturday.
