Wolfpack wins Swede Dahlberg

BUTTE — The Glacier boys rode some impressive sprint performances to a win at the Swede Dahlberg Invitational.

Wolfpack junior Drew Turner won both the 100- and 200-meter dash at the meet, and Ethan Larson finished second and third, respectively, in the two shortest races.

Those two teamed with Scout Willcut and Jackson Pepe to continue their dominance of the 400 relay.

Wolfpack senior Tyler Combs also finished second in the 400, Hunter Nicholson finished second in the triple jump and Glacier placed three throwers in the top four of the javelin.

Flathead also did well at the meet, but didn’t have the depth of their crosstown neighbors.

Braves junior Dawson Rinehart won the 300 hurdles, just in front of teammate Chad Hemsley. Jaden Anderson finished second in the 800 and fifth in the 1,600, Michael Lee placed in the shot put, Andy Thomas was third in the high jump and the Braves placed in both relays.

Flathead placed sixth overall in the mostly all Class AA competition. All 14 Class AA teams were present with Class A Butte Central rounding out the field.
