Flathead picked up its first win of the season on Saturday, topping Missoula Hellgate in the second game of a doubleheader at Conrad Complex.

The Bravettes scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning and five more in the second to help themselves to an 8-2 lead early in the contest.

Hellgate chipped away, racking up 10 hits in the game, but Flathead scored at least once every inning to hold off a late charge from the Knights.

Kylee Becarri hit a pair of home runs in a 3 for 4 performance at the plate and picked up the win in the circle. Every Bravettes batter who stepped up to the plate got a hit in the win.

“It was nice everybody got to chip in a little bit,” Bravettes coach Jack Foster said.

Flathead didn’t fare as well in the opener of the doubleheader, getting buried by Hellgate late in the 16-4 loss.

Bravettes senior Kylee Meredith was 2 for 2 in the opener and only got out once all day.
