Glacier ranked among top schools in nation

Glacier High School is ranked fourth among the top high schools in the state and in the top 10 percent nationally according to the U.S. News and World Report 2017 Best High Schools.
The rankings identify top-performing public high schools primarily based on test data and graduation rates.
Twenty-seven out of 168 Montana high schools made the rankings.
Nationally, out of 22,000 schools, Glacier came in at No. 2,099. Glacier was also ranked in the top 10 percent in 2013.
Factored into the rankings was overall student performance on state proficiency tests; schools that performed at, or better than, the state average for disadvantaged student populations; graduation rates and college readiness.
Glacier was among 6,041 high schools to receive national recognition, earning a silver medal. Schools making the cut was based on college-readiness performance determined by Advanced Placement test data and participation.
International Baccalaureate test data was not included when discerning college readiness because the organization was unable to supply data as it had in previous years, according to U.S. News. Schools that only offer International Baccalaureate exams were eligible for bronze medals.
