Glacier sets top marks at Top 10

MISSOULA — Glacier’s top athletes made a show at the Pilcher Western Montana Top 10 track meet on Tuesday at the University of Montana.

Glacier junior Drew Turner won the 200 and senior Tyler Combs won the 400. Ethan Larson finished second in the 100 and Elijah Boyd was second in the 800 in an impressive performance for the Wolfpack runners. Glacier also won both relays

Columbia Falls’ Dakota Bridwell won the javelin and teammate Ben Windauer finished second in the pole vault and Sage Wanner was third in the 1,600.

For the girls, Glacier junior Annie Hill dominated the 800 (2:11.73) and 1,600 (4:49.06) at the meet, bettering her state-best marks by more than two seconds each to win both events.

Nikki Krueger won the shot put and finished third in the discus.

Bigfork’s Haile Norred won the 400 in 59.44, winning by more than a second while continuing to be the best in the state at the event.

Valkyries teammate Bryn Morley finished second to Hill in the 1,600 finishing in 4:53.04, second only to Hill in the state this season and nearly nine seconds faster than her previous season best.

Polson’s Bea Frissell and Columbia Falls’ Kimberly Peacock finished second and third, respectively, in the 3,200 to Hellgate sophomore Ella DeGrandpre.
