Johnston cards 69 for medalist honors at Libby

LIBBY — Ryggs Johnston of Libby shot a 69 for a seven-shot victory over Dylan Beckman of Thompson Falls at the Cabinet View Invitational golf tournament on Friday.

Colton Stodghill of Bigfork was third with a 78.

Thompson Falls edged Libby for the team title, 355-356.

Thompson Falls, led by the 1-2-3 finish of Elsie Brown, Jessica Bonner and Julia Vanicek, finished second behind Bigfork in girls team action. Brown shot 97, Bonner 100 and Vanicek 105.

Isabella Santistevan led Bigfork with a 107. Eureka’s Darian Truman also shot 107.
