Police on puppy patrol
Kalispell Police Department was on puppy patrol when following up on a report that someone thought animal cruelty was going on at a Kenway Drive residence because he or she could hear puppies howling and barking outside in the heat “all summer long.” Officers met with the puppy owner and located four “loud and excited” puppies in a round pen with shade and water, appearing in good health. The owner and possibly the puppies were cautioned on the noise level.
Police responded to a report that a woman’s window was shot with a pellet gun near Hawthorne Avenue.
A man allegedly drove past and yelled at a child on a bicycle. The person calling in the report said it was an ongoing issue.
A woman was concerned that a child around 10 years old was too young to be allegedly driving what she thought was a motorbike that she believed wasn’t street legal.
A man who thought his vehicle was missing later called dispatchers back after purportedly learning his wife had moved it without his knowledge.
A small Pomeranian was seen chasing children on bicycles. Police were unable to locate the dog.
A man allegedly called a hospital communication center making sexually suggestive comments and was reportedly being aggressive.
A woman wanted to know what was going on at an Eighth Avenue East residence where supposedly there were a lot of loud teens and a street full of cars. The woman thought it was weird that people were hanging out after 11 p.m. Turns out it was a church youth group and there was reportedly “very little noise.”
A woman said she was notified by a neighbor that a man was “creeping around” her vehicle.
After two years of reportedly being parked on a street — someone finally reported a flatbed truck full of garbage. The vehicle was tagged with a 72-hour sticker.
Flathead Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Coordinator took part in a water rescue on Montana 35.
A man on U.S. 2 West in Kalispell requested extra patrol after seeing a few men in a white vehicle allegedly steal items from a donation bin and leaving a mess in their wake on multiple occasions.
A shotgun was reportedly taken from a building on U.S. 2 East in Kalispell.
An emotional man on Montana 83 in Bigfork reportedly made repeated calls asking for animal control because he needed to board his horses, claiming the horses “will be killed” if left at a particular location. The man was advised that animal control doesn’t board horses.
Someone on Montana 40 West in Columbia Falls said a man outside a business was allegedly yelling that a neighbor sprayed him with bear spray.
A pickup truck with a male driver and female passenger was spotted weaving in and out of traffic, reportedly “slamming” on the brakes and speeding up when someone tried to pass them on U.S. 2 East in Columbia Falls.
A vehicle with hazard lights on reportedly kept trying to pass vehicles on the double yellow line on Wisconsin Avenue in Whitefish.
A woman on Two Mile Drive in Kalispell told officers she saw transients allegedly building a wall of roofing materials on a property by some trees.
Someone on U.S. 2 West in Kalispell said a man in a parking lot allegedly chugged a beer then took off in a vehicle with a 2-year-old in the front seat and not in a car seat.
Someone on Eagle Bend Drive in Bigfork reported hearing a half-dozen shots on a golf course. People were apparently shooting blanks to scare geese off, but possibly killed a goose.
An attempted break-in was reported in a bus barn on East Evergreen Drive in Kalispell. There was a glass break, but an employee couldn’t find any broken glass.
A vehicle was reportedly broken into and a pistol, box of ammo, purse and wallet stolen in Hungry Horse.
A verbal disturbance was reported in Somers when a screaming woman allegedly scratched a man’s face, broke his glasses and went inside his closet where she began biting the buttons off his shirts. The incident resulted in an arrest for partner/family member assault.
Two teens became a road hazard when spotted walking down the yellow striped line in the middle of U.S. 2 East in Kalispell with their arms spread out.
A man on Third Street East was suspicious of a young man with a “cowboy-style” mustache who reportedly showed up at his house on a bicycle, took pictures, then took off. The resident allegedly followed the young man and confronted him. The resident said the man was verbally aggressive. While the resident did not need Columbia Falls Police Department to contact him, he said he would like them to “check this kid out.”
Someone on Riparian Drive thought it was odd to see a green tent set up behind a large bush on an empty lot. Police made contact with a man who reportedly said he was going to find an alternative location to stay for the night.
