Narcissist Trump is everybody's problem now
Time for the rest of white America to grow up. Those who support this president can now consider themselves culpable in the nuclear narcissists’ tantrum going on between two king babies — Donald J. Trump and Kim Jong-un. There is a reason we don’t let toddlers play with guns, and it is the very same reason disordered personalities should never have the launch codes to a nuclear arsenal.
Like a very small child who would rather break a toy instead of letting somebody else play with it, narcissists are driven by the same infantile rage to destroy what they cannot control. “If I can’t have it, nobody can!”
Roughly one-third of the white electorate gave one of these unhinged children lethal and phallic missiles to play with because he encouraged them to take the leash off their own ethnocentric sense of grandiosity and entitlement. Time for that one-third to grow up or skulk back into the shadows at the fringe of society where they can stew in their own conspiracy theories. Time to stop treating the democratic process, and dare I say reality itself, as some sort of play things to manipulate in a brooding tantrum over this country electing its first black [gasp] president.
The stakes being played for right now are as real as they get. But by all means, don’t take my word for any of this. Just listen to the words that come out of this president’s own mouth any time something doesn’t go his way. Congress can’t repeal Obamacare because the law has reached its highest level of popularity yet. Trump’s response threatening to withhold funding in order to punish the insurance companies and to destabilize the markets in hopes of making them collapse [i.e. narcissistic tantrum intent on destroying that which he cannot control or that which does not reflect glory unto him].
The real-world impact of Trump’s tantrum — all of our insurance premiums will go up by double digits in 2018, according to a recent independent analysis — the direct result of a king baby punishing his play things (us) for not demanding ACA repeal in order to serve his petty obsession with erasing Obama’s legacy. But by all means, don’t take my word for any of this. Just listen for the words that seem to get stuck in Donald Trump’s throat like a KFC chicken bone, words that almost refuse to come out of his mouth — white supremacists.
A young woman with the guts to stand up to armed zealots is plowed over by a neo-Nazi’s car, and Trump makes a coldly calculated attempt to spread the blame around, the ambiguity of his initial statement being hailed by alt-righ thate groups. As pathetic and un-presidential as Trump’s response was, the most pathetic thing about the whole situation we as a country now find ourselves in is a delusion held by the white supremacists themselves — that Donald Trump has the slightest bit of authentic regard for them. Sure, he prefers the company of whites, but his pandering was merely a means to an egocentric end — to elevate himself to the presidency. That is what narcissists do. They use others to serve the self.
White supremacy (latent or overt) serves Trump, but he is not a white supremacist in the truest sense of those words. Like any narcissist, Trump’s world is divided at a much deeper level. Far beneath skin and its color, far below nationality; Trump’s world is divided into self and everybody else. The allegiance that drives this president is the one he has to himself. He is a Trump supremacist. To go on being too uninformed, cowardly, or ashamed to acknowledge this is dangerous and pathetic. Time to grow up.
