Delores 'Dodie' Sears, 86

Delores “Dodie” Sears, 86, “entered heaven’s gates” on Dec. 3, 2017.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home, with Pastor Ron Pierce officiating.

Dodie was born in Kalispell to Charles and Mable Morton on May 1, 1931. She was raised in Bigfork on a farm in the Holt area. She loved riding her horse and helping her dad on the farm. She was a cheerleader at Bigfork High School and graduated in 1949.

Dodie went on to marry and have eight children. She enjoyed traveling, camping and outdoor activities with her family and friends. She worked at the Bigfork Mercantile for years while raising her young family.

Dodie was preceded in death by her loving husband, William F. Sears; her daughters, Kelly Rose and Marcia Sandru; and granddaughters, Christina Scott and Jenna Johnson.

She is survived by her children, Debra DeShais, Cheryl Mace, Dali Evey, Tawna Inman, John Wilson and Dee Johnson; her stepchildren, Judy Collins, Kevin Sears and Butch Sears; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Rosemary Qualls Holgren, nieces, Rhonda and Cori; and nephew, Gary.

Dodie was a gracious and giving woman who was cherished and respected by all. She will live on in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, dear Dodie. Arrangements are under the care of Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory.
