Former senior center goes on auction block

Two city lots where the Kalispell Senior Center and a rental home previously were located will be sold to the highest bidder at a public auction.

The auction begins at 9 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at the Flathead County commissioner chambers in the main courthouse, 800 S. Main St. in Kalispell.

The former senior-center facility is a former church building that was used by the Kalispell seniors for a number of years. It is located on a corner lot at 403 Second Ave. W. An older home and accessory building at 411 and 411 1/2 Second Ave. W., also are included in the auction. The properties owned by the county and have an appraised market value of $450,000. They are being sold “as is,” according to a county sale notice. No bid below 90 percent of fair market value is acceptable.

Terms of the sale are 20 percent cash due at the time of sale, with the balance due within 10 days or the buyer will forfeit the 20 percent down payment.

The Kalispell Senior Center relocated to the county’s South Campus Building when that facility opened last year at 40 11th Ave. W.
