POLSON — Polson wrestling squeaked by Frenchtown 31-27 on Tuesday night thanks in large part to a trio of pins provided by Cameron Brown, Parker Adler and Hunter Fritsch.

The Pirates fell behind 12-0 after the lowest three weight classes but got back on track with Mateo Quinones’ major decision over Frenchtown’s Zach Blanchard in the 126-pound weight class.

Brown’s pin of Blake King in the 145-pound class tightened the score, and Adler pinned his opponent in just two minutes, tied for the quickest of the match, to give the Pirates their first lead.

Fritsch’s pin and Noah Humphrey’s winning decision in the 182- and 205-pound classes, respectively, gave Polson a healthy lead that was enough to withstand a forfeit in the heavyweight division.

Polson returns to the mat at 10 a.m. Friday at the Mining City Duals in Butte. The event will continue into Saturday.
