Wine thief packs a punch

One man stole a bottle of wine from a local store, and when an employee confronted him about it he punched the employee in the head and went to hide behind Moose’s.

One woman called the Kalispell Police Department because she was home sick and wasn’t sure her phone was working. She needed to make a test call, so she tried 911.

A man stopped by the Kalispell Police Department with his grandmother to report a stolen credit card. He reportedly had mailed the credit card from the Somers Post Office to an address in Idaho but it never arrived. Now it was allegedly being used at various locations around the Flathead Valley.

A Toyota Prius got stuck in a snow bank.

One woman called dispatch with a potential case of identity theft. When she went to Wal-Mart to return a Christmas gift, she was told she had already reached her maximum level of items she could return without a receipt. She reportedly had never returned an item. Wal-Mart employees told her that whomever had made the returns would have had to show an ID. The woman claimed she had never lost an ID, but it appeared someone was using hers to return things without her knowledge. Police noted it was unclear whether a crime had been committed or Wal-Mart had made a clerical error.

One person called saying they had been in a car accident the day before and had been advised to swap insurance information by law enforcement because they were to busy to deal with minor accidents that day. They did, but now the man was receiving harassing text messages from the mother of the 18-year-old girl who was in the other car and wanted it to stop.

One caller reported hearing six gun shots, but had no further information.

A man called because he thought his neighbor was out of town but he say young people in the kitchen before they allegedly left to hop the back fence. It turned out relatives of the homeowner had been using the house to have a party.

Someone shot a bunch of BB pellets into the front window of a local welding business.
