A Whitefish entrepreneur is kicking off the Valentine’s Day season with a lingerie and gift trunk show today and Saturday in Whitefish.

Jordana Woodland, the founder and creative director of Naked Princess, will host the two-day event from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days at 231 First St. E., Unit D, in Whitefish. Shoppers can sip champagne and sample chocolate while they’re shopping.

“It’s a really great, curated collection of all the things a woman loves,” Woodland said. “It’s about filling a woman’s boudoir.”

The Naked Princess brand has grown in just four years to encompass lingerie, loungewear, home accessories and an array of custom-formulated beauty products.

Woodland, who lives in Whitefish with her three children ages 6, 5 and 3, said she introduced her products to the Whitefish community during Ladies Night last fall and got a great response.

“I honestly didn’t think people would respond, but everyone loved the cashmere lounge dresses,” she said, adding that many of her products have multipurpose appeal.

In addition to the trunk show, Naked Princess products will be available locally by appointment. Woodland is considering opening a full-time shop in Whitefish in April.

Naked Princess encourages women to embrace their femininity through the empowering daily ritual of boudoir.

“We believe that boudoir isn’t just a space, but also a state of mind,” she said.

Woodland said she fell in love with the “art of dressing” as a young girl. Born in the Philippines while her father was stationed there in the military, she traveled with her family extensively before they settled in La Jolla, California, where she grew up. Later she moved to Los Angeles, where she did some modeling, acting and spent a short time at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise.

As a teenager she began collecting fancy dresses, costume jewelry and vintage items.

“I love when a woman takes care of herself,” Woodland said. “Today a lot of women have guilt in taking care of themselves.”

Creating a boudoir is not only a beautiful physical place, “but also an emotional place for women to balance the many facets of their daily lives,” she said.

Woodland is very involved in overseeing the quality of Naked Princess products, including the selection of fabric for the lingerie and loungewear. She’s also involved in developing the lip glosses. Many of her third-party products are sourced in Europe with attention to the finest quality.

Naked Princess’ flagship boutique opened in 2014 in the Melrose Place shopping district of Los Angeles. Woodland said she travels to LA twice a month to oversee her business interests there.

Naked Princess products can be found throughout the world in spas and boutiques such as Nordstrom.com, Montage, Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Beverly Hilton, Bellagio and The Ritz Carlton.
