Man denies assault on officer

A 61-year-old man who allegedly tried to spear a Kalispell police officer pleaded not guilty on Feb. 2 in Flathead County District Court.

Mark Ladwig Drewry was charged with felony assault on a peace officer in January, after he allegedly threw a sharpened piece of interior moulding spear-style at an officer. According to court documents, Drewry allegedly broke into an apartment on Windward Way and attacked the responding officer.

Drewry’s trial is set to begin July 3.
