Eureka B/C mat champs, has 7 individual winners

ARLEE — Make that three in a row for Eureka’s wrestlers.

The Lions dominated the one-day Western B/C divisional on Saturday by rolling up a team total of 232 points and had seven individual champions — Kahden Bakkila (120), Jonathan Schmidt (138), James Dunn (145), Cannan Smith (152), Garrett Graves (182), Joe Fehr (205) and Kaelen Yanak (285) — to win its third straight team title at this event.

Graves, Fehr and Yanak all won by pins in the final.

Eureka’s Hank Dunn (126) was second.

The top four finishers in all weight classes advance to state, which begins Friday in Billings.

Eureka had four individual divisional winners last year in Bakkila, Schmidt, Graves and Fehr.

Ronan, 140 1/2, was second with Libby, 118 1/2, third.

Ronan had two champions — Hunter Peterson (126) and Noah Cheff (132).

Spencer Stagg (113), Owen Brown (120) and Sam Mocabee (285) were second.

Libby had one individual champion — Buddy Doolin (103) — and three runners-up — Reed Christensen (132), Laine Young (138) and Clancy Gout (205).

Bigfork’s top finisher was Matt Farrier (170), who was second.

Bigfork, 62 points, was seventh in the team standings.
