Police assist with unruly passenger

| February 5, 2017 8:56 PM

An Amtrak official contacted the Whitefish Police Department for assistance with an allegedly unruly train passenger. Officers made sure the disorderly woman was off the train and on her way.

A man wearing a black and white Dr. Seuss hat was reportedly removed from a Central Avenue establishment, and was allegedly so drunk he could barely speak or stand. A friend agreed to stay with the man until his sober girlfriend could pick him up.

A group called police when they couldn’t find a friend they had been partying with. The group was from out of town, and were concerned the female friend wouldn’t be able to find her way back to where they were staying. The friends called back later after they were able to locate the woman.

The Whitefish Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire on East Second Street.

The Columbia Falls Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire on Ninth Street West.
