Half a dozen horses running wild

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding six horses running back and forth on the highway near Ponderosa Lane toward Kalispell. The horses sprinted south down the highway into the northbound lane, and were later coralled and returned to where they belong.

A caller reported that four checks had been stolen from her mailbox, and that she had notified her bank.

A caller on Highway 2 East reported that the roof of a local motel had caved in and he wanted to make sure no one was inside. The power and gas were turned off for safety reasons.

Several animal complaints were received about a dog barking on Tronstad Road. Officers were unable to locate the dog.

A residential alarm went off while a resident was out of town. Officers determined that construction workers had set the alarm off and everything was OK.

A list of items was reported stolen, and the caller said that one of those items had been spotted at a local pawn shop.

A local business on Highway 2 East called to report that they had video of a female shoplifter.

A caller reported two aggressive pitbulls had tried to attack her in her driveway on Circle Drive in Columbia Falls. The caller was trapped inside her vehicle until an officer arrived. The owner was advised of the complaint and the county ordinances and then pointed in the direction the dogs had last been seen.

Whitefish Police Department received a report that a small fawn was stuck on a block of ice surrounded by water near downtown Whitefish. An officer was unable to locate the fawn.

A caller on Highway 93 South reported that a woman was screaming and threatening to beat up the caller. The caller did not wish to press charges, but simply wanted the woman “gone for the night.”

Columbia Falls Police Department received a call about a dog at large on Fourth Avenue West. Officers contacted the owner and issued a verbal warning.
