Polson boys, Bigfork girls net hoop wins

POLSON — Matthew Rensvold posted a double-double with 18 points and 16 rebounds as Class A Polson notched its seventh straight win by beating Class B Bigfork 62-34 on Thursday evening in a nonconference boys basketball contest.

Polson, winners of 10 of its last 11 games, jumped out to an 18-5 advantage, led 31-14 at the half and never looked back.

Aners Epperly led Bigfork in scoring with seven points.

BIGFORK — A pair of 17-point quarters put Class B Bigfork on top 34-25 at the half and the Valkyries played Class A Polson on even terms in the second half to claim the nonconference victory.

Shae Anderson netted 14 points for Bigfork.

Mollie Fisher led Polson, and all scorers with 18 points. Kaelyn Smith added 11.

All nine points for Bigfork in the fourth were from the free-throw line.
