GREAT FALLS — Nate Burnham, a senior at Glacier High School, broke the school record in the preliminaries of the 500 freestyle on Friday at the Montana State All-Class Swim Meet at the Great Falls High Pool.

Burnham will be seeded first in that event in today’s finals.

“Hopefully he repeats that performance and gets a state championship,” Flathead/Glacier coach Dave Lillard said.

Burnham is also seeded third in the 100 freestyle finals.

Alex Bertrand, a Glacier freshman, made the finals in the 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medlay.

“Great attitude, great swims, a great day,” Lillard said of his Flathead and Glacier state participants.

“I bet 95 percent of our swimmers had best times. Too many great swims to mention.”

No results were available.

Swimming resumes today at 11 a.m. with the consolation finals.
