School calendar

• Kalispell, Bigfork and Evergreen school districts will have school Monday to make up a snow day.

• Cayuse Prairie, Columbia Falls, West Valley and Whitefish school districts will not have school Monday for Presidents Day.

• Helena Flats students won’t have school Monday. It is a teacher work day.

• Smith Valley students have no school Monday for Presidents Day and Tuesday for a teacher work day.

• A scholar ceremony for students with 4.0 grade-point averages is set from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday in the Glacier High School Performance Hall.

• County Cousins 4-H will host the Cloverbuds meeting set for 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the fairgrounds. The meeting is open to children ages 5 to 7 who live in Flathead County.

• The final step in registration for current Flathead High School ninth through 11th graders will be from 1:45 to 3:30 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the computer lab. Parents and students will have individual appointments with a staff member.

• West Valley students will have an early out at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

• The Flathead County spelling bee will be held Thursday at Glacier High School.

• Kalispell Montessori will host scholar and actress Mary Jane Bradbury who will present “Kid Gloves and Brass Knuckles: The Life of Nancy Cooper Russell,” in two presentations at 1 and 2 p.m. Thursday at the school located at 349 Willow Glen Dr., Kalispell. Open to the public. Seating is limited. Call 755-3826 to attend. The presentation is part of the Montana Conversations program.

• A pie auction, musical and talent show is scheduled at Fair-Mont-Egan from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.

• The Kalispell Mini Maker Faire will be will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Flathead County Fairgrounds in the Expo Building. For more information or to enter visit http://kalispell.makerfaire.com/.

• Two lamb showmanship 4-H clinics are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 10 and June 11. Participants who turn in a sponsorship of $100 or more by Feb. 28 to the Flathead County Sheep Committee will not be charged a clinic fee. Participants should bring a lamb to work with. Participants will learn about feed and management, show preparation and training techniques. The cost to attend the clinic is $75 and includes lunch and a T-shirt, or $60 for the lunch only.

• Flathead County 4-H is accepting camp counselor applications through Feb. 27. The camp will be held July 24-28. Applications are available online at http://msuextension.org/flathead/flathead4h.html.

• Kila parent/teacher conferences are set March 1.

• Marion students will have a noon dismissal March 1 for staff development.

• Fair-Mont-Egan students have no school March 3. It is a teacher work day.

• Whitefish Christian Academy students have a noon release March 3. It is a teacher work day.

• March 4 marks the end of the second trimester for Bigfork students.

• March 7 marks the end of the trimester for Creston students.

• March 8 marks the end of the second trimester at Somers-Lakeside School District.

• The Flathead County Science Fair is set from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Flathead County Fairgrounds in the Expo Building. For more information, to enter a project or volunteer as a judge visit https://www.flatheadcountysciencefair.org/.

• March 10 marks the end of the second trimester for Olney-Bissell students.

• The Flathead County 4-H Interstate Exchange spaghetti supper and dessert auction is planned for March 11 at the Eagles Lodge in Kalispell. Dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the auction at 6 p.m. Cost is $6 each or $20 per family of four. All proceeds go toward hosting out-of-state 4-H members and sending local members to different states. For more information call the extension office at 758-5553.

• Missoula Children’s Theater will visit Fair-Mont-Egan School March 20-24.

• A K-8 spring program is planned at Smith Valley School March 23.

• Bigfork Elementary will hold Child Find screenings by appointment only between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. March 23. Open to children ages 3 through 5 who live in the Bigfork School District. Children will be screened by qualified personnel in the areas of hearing, vision, motor skills, speech, language and thinking skills. Call Carol Venegas at 837-7412 to make an appointment.

• A teen social is planned from 4 to 5:30 p.m. March 23 at ImagineIF Kalispell. Open to teens in grades sixth through 12th. The craft will be making homemade bubble gum. Free food will be available.

• Kila students have an early dismissal March 24 at 2 and 2:20 p.m.

• Montana 4-H youth and leaders are invited to a horse and livestock forum March 24-26 at Red Lion Hotel in Kalispell. Registration will open in February. Participants will get an introduction on livestock and small animal care. Other activities such as a dance, skill-a-thon and interactive tours are planned.

• Creston students have an early out March 24 for spring break, which runs through March 31.

• Spring break is March 27-31 for most schools.

• Swan River students have a 1:45 p.m. dismissal April 7.

• Whitefish Christian Academy students have a noon release April 7. It is a teacher work day.

• A kindergarten round up is planned April 11 at Olney-Bissell. There will be no kindergarten classes.

• Parent/teacher conferences at Columbia Falls High School is set April. 11.

• Parent/teacher conferences at Columbia Falls Junior High is set April. 13.

• There is no school April 14 at Whitefish Christian Academy for parent/teacher conferences.
